Clear Lake is excited about its new Recreation Area. The area can be accessed by either 12th Ave S (south side of the complex) or S. 17th St (north side of the complex). Parking is available at both entries. The O.R.C. will be continually seeing improvements to the park.
Here are a few of the amenities at this multi-use 30+ acre green space:
- Picnic shelter house (no restrooms or electricity)
- 9-hole disc golf course
- 3/4 mile paved walking/biking/skating trail
- Soccer Fields
- Fenced Dog Park
DOG PARK
The Clear Lake Dog Park is a fenced dog park that is over 2 acres in size and offers an area for both large and small dogs to play. There is agility equipment and drinking fountains. Please observe posted rules and regulations at the Dog Park.
The dog park opened June 2016 and has seen regular usage by Clear Lake residents and visitors alike. Enhancements will continue to be made. If you are interested in supporting future enhancements to the dog park, donations may be made payable to "Friends of the Outlet Recreation Complex" and mailed to Clear Lake Parks & Recreation Department, 800 1st Ave S, Clear Lake, IA 50428
.
OTHER IMPROVEMENT OPPORTUNITIES
Work will be ongoing to improve the turf/athletic field areas of the park. Improvements such as shelters for picnics, playground equipment, benches, landscaping, tree planting, etc. are excellent opportunities for any community member or organization to make a lasting contribution to the community (Eagle Scout or civic group projects).
